Very enthusiastic feedback from all the audience members I have spoken to. One audience member enjoyed it so much they acquired another ticket to attend a second time and said they gained even more from the performance on revisiting it.
I was made aware how much all the little touches (the newspapers on the stairs, the presentation of the choir in the rotunda, the darkness and bowed heads and two live plotters in the Filter Room and the Spitfire formation of the children) added to the performance and made it into a production rather than just a concert.
As we moved from room to room, the atmosphere of each area affected my singing in a very positive way.
Thank you both once again; it was such a wonderful thing to be part of, not only because it was a joy to sing, but also because it felt such a wonderful expression of wartime events and celebration of amazing and remarkable achievements. To be able to perform it at Bentley Priory, to be involved with the children’s choirs and have such fantastic support from all their staff, was truly a magical experience. I just want to do it all again!
Your support, hard work and dedication was amazing. You both know exactly how to get us going when we’re flagging and, hopefully, we did you proud. |
It was a delight to take part in a new work of high quality and interest. I sing for enjoyment and for health reasons - both benefited from this project.
An outstanding cooperation between a talented musician and a talented writer. It felt very special to sing such great original music and words in such a beautiful setting. The whole project far exceeded any expectation I had at the beginning. I hope the piece will be performed again in other places as well as again at Bentley Priory
Thanks so much for inviting me to take part - you did a fantastic job, and it was an absolute triumph.
After all the rehearsals and hard work it was very emotional to sing such evocative music in front of an audience especially in the rotunda and the filter room. I enjoyed singing in such a fantastic setting and that the performance required movement and choreography as well.
I have to say a special thank you to Bryan and Philip - "the ones who had the vision". What a fitting tribute to those who gave their lives to save this country and I only hope that we honoured the trust and faith that Bryan and Philip had in us and who put their work into our hands. This is one experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
